McCrea Snyder Kudravetz is a painter and visual artist who uses photography to collect a vocabulary of interesting textures, patterns, colors, and images, which she collages on the computer. Her closely observed details and fascinating small bits embody the essence of a building, garden, or city. Her goal is for the collage to add up to more than a sum of its parts.
Ms. Kudravetz graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, A.B., Phi Beta Kappa, with a major in art. Her education also includes graduate work at UVa., and workshops with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
One of the original renting members of the McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville, VA, Kudravetz now exhibits there as an Associate Member, and maintains a studio both at her farm and in downtown Charlottesville. Her work has continued to evolve over a life-long career, and is in many public and private collections.
