Nancy Eckels’ technique is highly improvisational; she paints with little or no plan, using only the emotion of the moment and mental pictures from her life’s experiences.
Nancy Eckels was born in Kingston, New York and grew up in Utah. After high school, she attended the U.S. International School of Performing and Visual Arts in San Diego, California where she earned a BFA degree and concentrated on acting and musical theatre.
Eckels’ paintings mirror the joy and energy she feels when creating works of uninhibited color, movement and emotion. She strives to deepen the viewer’s understanding of her paintings by sharing an array of emotions that range from exuberance and passion to more subtle introspective moods.
