Lauren Fitte’s practice focuses on the design, implementation, and administration of domestic and international estate and business plans and the associated federal income, estate, and gift tax implications applicable to our multi-jurisdictional clients. This includes advice concerning pass-through entities, such as trusts and family limited partnerships, and taxable entities, such as foreign and domestic corporations. Lauren’s inbound practice includes trust, entity, and estate planning for non-U.S. families with beneficiaries and investments in the U.S., inheritance planning, asset protection, tax compliance matters, and pre-immigration planning. She also has many years of experience advising fiduciaries, settlors, and beneficiaries with regard to the establishment, administration, and tax reporting issues relating to offshore trusts and their investments. In addition to her niche international trust and estate practice, Lauren also advises with regard to traditional domestic estate planning, probate, and estate administration matters.
Lauren is board certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law (Texas Board of Legal Specialization). She has published several articles on international estate planning and taxation, and is a contributing editor to the four-volume treatise, Asset Protection: Domestic and International Law and Tactics, published by Thomson/West group and updated quarterly. Lauren is also a certified mediator and consults with litigation co-counsel regarding trust and estate disputes and will contests. Lauren graduated from The University of Texas School of Law in 2013, where she served as a Staff Editor for the Texas International Law Journal and interned for The Honorable Frances H. Stacy of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and The Honorable William J. Boyce of the Fourteenth District Court of Appeals of Texas. Prior to law school, she received her B.A. in English from Rice University in 2008.
